ABOUT
NICE TO MEET YOU
Advocates. Organizers. Optimists. Innovators. Pragmatic dreamers. Historians. Queers. Allies. Elders. All make Dorothy who we are. We center Queerness as a part of cultural growth because we noticed that lots of DEI work don't discuss LGBTQ equity in a meaningful way.
IT'S ALL IN A NAME
Gale, Dandridge, and Zbornack; it's not a law firm, but three incredible Queer icons that have the name Dorothy. We’re all about respecting our origins and not at all timid about a little nostalgia.

Dorothy Gale searched all over Oz to find herself, only to end up right where she started, realizing the wisdom from her long journey. Dorothy Dandridge was an outsider raised by lesbians and a fierce advocate for her art, not to mention her blackness. And Dorothy Zbornak is the goddess of shade, appearing fearless as she takes on the world. We channel their charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent so the world is a better place because of our efforts.
HELPING YOU GET THERE
DEI work should be pragmatic, practical, and (probably most important) doable. Our approach includes tools that organically embed cultural competency into everything you do. Because it is an end-to-end way to transform your organization’s culture, the q'd programming is central to our work. It helps people investigate their identity, whether they are LGBTQ or not. It's about personal growth that improves how people show up at work.
DOROTHY'S FOUNDER
Zeb Carlson (he/him) founded Dorothy in 2022 with a wealth of experience in tech, digital marketing, and philanthropy. A proud queer advocate throughout his life, it was after working with organizations on Diversity and Inclusion efforts that he realized opportunities to design a learning approach that used non-binary thinking to create a creative space for cultural growth.
